Tornado hits Omaha!

Okay so the other night a tornado came through Omaha. It came through at about 2:30am while we all were sleeping. I usually don't wake up to storms but this one was so loud I thought our windows were going to blow. Rick went downstairs to check the sump pump since it has failed to pump and we have flooded before so now he can't sleep when their is a storm. He came back upstairs and said the sirens were going off, so we grabbed the kids and headed to the basement. Apparently by the time the sirens went off the storm had already gone through. We had minimal damage, a few shingles blew up, our grill was picked up and dropped in the middle of the yard (not a scratch on it) and the rest of the things on the back porch blew around. Here are some pictures of some of our neighborhood damage.

Our roof with the shingles standing straight up.

Our back yard stuff every where.

A neighbors basket ball hoop down.

Someones play equipment down.

Their were some roofs blown off about 2 miles from our house. We are so blessed that nothing else happened to us and thankfully nobody was hurt.

Yikes Diana! You are making me miss Omaha! We had tornados here the day Ali graduated, but they were about 30 miles away so we missed the action. Where do you live in Omaha?
