Happy Birthday Landon...

Landon had his 6th birthday on Aug. 16th. We had just 2 of his close friends over for cake and games. I can't believe how fast they grow. I remember like it was yesterday being at the hospital with him. All that golden blond hair with the cowlick in the front.
Here are some pictures of Landon through the years...

Family Camp Out

We decided to go camping last minute for Landons birthday last Friday night. We quickly gathered everything we needed and headed up to Two Rivers. We had a great time, its the first time we have gone with the whole family. Carter did great and slept pretty well in the tent. It did get pretty cold that night and we didn't bring any warm stuff, but we slept soundly. Well, everyone but me. I don't do too well on the ground. Next time were bringing a mattress.

Here are the boys putting up their tent.

The family eating their tin foil dinners. Gotta love hamburger, potatoes and carrots cooked in an open fire!! oh and covered with catsup.

Landon enjoying his smore

Preston, Rick and Parker cooking their marshmallows, we sadly lost many to the fire.

Yes, I know, thats me camping. For those of you who wouldn't believe it until they saw it. I actually really like camping. I think we will be doing more.

A satisfied Preston.

Ian making sure no gnats got on the food, that kept him busy for a while.

When we got home we laid all the sleeping bags out and set up the tents to air out. We had a colorful back yard.

First day of School..

The boys started school on August 13th. I was excited to get back in a schedule. Preston started middle school, 6th grade. He was nervous but all went well with his locker and getting around to his classes. I can't believe how fast time goes by.

Landon started 1st grade. He was so excited to see all his friends from last year.

Ian Started 5 morning a week preschool for speech and language delays. He is actually in what they call a 50/50 class. 50% speech and language and 50% parent pay or "normal" whatever that is. The van picks him up and drops him off. He has 5 other kids in the van and he had a great first 3 days.

Parker started 4th grade. He says his teacher is mean, but since he hasn't had him before I told him to keep an open mind. I think his teacher is going to be great. He is also involved in HAL (high ability learners) program. He isn't too excited to have the extra work, but I am.

I need an Alice...

Okay so today I was talking to my friend and was telling her how I really needed a nanny, maid and cook. She said "No Diana you just need an Alice." Thats IT! I need someone to live in my house, watch my kids when I want to do something else, keep my house clean, garden, cook, make the beds, take care of the Dog.....If only If only, I guess I can dream. When does school start!

Vacation 2008 part 2- Layton

Our second week of vacation we spent in Layton with Ricks Parents. We had a great time just hanging out while Rick helped his parents get more settled in their house. He fixed and replaced a toilet, fixed the dryer, helped them buy a new washer and dryer, and helped them pick up a new mattress. He also took the boys to laser tag, a couple movies, and of course geocacheing. I have gotten to know the area a little so now I can drive to Kohls, Target, the church bookstore, and of course Walmart. Here are a few pictures of the time we spent there.

Here is Carter enjoying the new rocking chairs.

We had a short visit with our niece Brandy who is getting married in the Salt Lake Temple the end of September. We wish we could be their!

Here is Ricks sister Wendy holding her grand baby Cambria and next to her is Jeni our nephews wife holding Carter. We fell in love with both Jeni and Cam. Good Pick Christian!

We had a picnic with Ricks sisters family and Carter LOVED to eat the Watermelon down to the rind.

Here is our boys with our Nephews playing Wii. My older boys were in heaven to be able to hang out with the big boys. I don't think the big boys know how much my boys like them!

Okay so not the greatest picture of Hailey but here she is trying to keep Carter from pulling Cams hair.
Here is a cute video of Hailey's husband Eric playing ball with Carter. It was so sweet watching him with the boys, he really played great with them.
I love how Eric tells him to look for the ball by his foot and Carter sits down and looks under his feet for the ball. Too cute! Thanks Eric!

Good Bye Cyn!

This is my friend Cyndie! She is a close friend that is moving to Utah from Omaha. She's sad, I'm sad, my kids are sad. I don't know what I'm gonna do with out her. She has been a great friend. She really helped me a ton when I was on bed rest with Carter. She is my "hang out" buddy. Her kids are in school so when I needed to run errands she would tag along and help with Carter. I know that miles apart she will still be just a phone call away. Distance won't change our friendship. Here are some things that I will miss.

1. Her sticky notes

2. Her lemon merange (I totally botched that spelling) pies

3. Her bringing over and leaving random "stuff" her kids don't use anymore

4. I will miss shopping with her

5. Talking for hours about stuff

6.Rescuing her dog from under her house

She has made me a better mother, friend, and daughter of God. She is a great example of patience, kindness and service.

I hope that Murry knows what they are getting because my little world is gonna be a sadder emptier place with out her 1/2 a mile away! Has it been two years yet? Cause then she'll be back!

Where oh where has my sweet baby gone?!?!

So Carter has always been such a laid back, easy going and sweet baby. I always said he was a great way to end our family. But MAN lately he has turned into the devil. He has learned that his Sweet looks and gentle demeanour doesn't get him as much as before. His brothers have clued in to his tricks. So he has invented new tricks to get what he wants. He especially likes screeching like a Howler monkey, slapping everything and everyone that gets in his way and sneakily stealing whatever he has his eye on at the time. Granted I am guilty of giving in more than I should, but hey, he is my last, my baby! If you know me then you know how HARD that is for me! Good thing he's cute!
